Thoughts: I knew this would be a rough day with all the beer involved. Today I went to Chicago to celebrate a friends husband's last chemo treatment. Ironically I did fairly well until the after party taco bell run. I get the "I've screwed up already and a little more can't hurt" mindset...and it's not accurate. I liked that I had veggies and pretzels for the drive. It made the drive great and I didn't get the urge to stop for a burger or a hot dog. Lesson learned.

6-6 the return home

Breakfast
  • 1 slice wheat toast
  • 1/2 cup scrambled eggs
  • 1 sausage patty
  • 3 pieces bacon
Lunch
2 Chicago style polish sausages.
No fries (-:
  • 2 buns
  • 2 sausages
  • 2 dill pickle spears
  • sport peppers
  • 1 slice tomato
  • yellow mustard
  • sautéed onions
I parked in a Taco Bell parking lot about 1/2 way home and slept.  I was too tired to drive and needed a nap.  After the nap, I ran through the drive through and got a frutista freeze pina colada to wake myself up.  The sugar helped.  It had pineapple floating on the top.  Really all in all too sweet.Dinner.
Gosh this spinach salad hit the spot.
  • 2 cups spinach greens
  • 1 large green onion
  • buttermilk, yogurt (both low fat) ranch dressing 3 Tbsp
Dinner.  1 cup left over lentils and rice.  It was really good cold and oh so nice to have walking in the door from the brutal trip.
Not my best day admittedly.  I'm at least posting all the crap I'm shoving in my mouth.

6-5 on the road to Chicago

Buzzed and still hungry, I went back for more...artichoke and spinach dip, wheat crackers, hummus, pita chips.  I know that I nibbled walking by the table...2 more pieces of summer sausage.
The sangria was excellent and I ended up having 3 wine glasses and 1 beer.  Whew.
This was dinner of sorts.  I went to Chicago for book club and they always have wine and finger food.  I knew it would be a calorie laden affair, so I conserved my calories until I got there.  Probably not the best plan.  Summer sausage, cheese, artichoke and spinach dip, crackers and tortilla chips.  Sangria in the glass.
This was breakfast.
  • 1 orange
  • 3 tostadas
  • 1 scrambled egg in 1/2 a sausage (Mexican Charizzo)
Wow...I'm still getting a handle on posting these pictures...so everything is a bit bassackwards.
